Big thankyou to the Big Lottery

We are thrilled to announce that the Big Lottery has agreed to fund us through the Communities Fund for another two years. This support is vital for maintaining our car scheme in a challenging funding landscape. Despite the complexities of securing charitable funding, we are optimistic about the future, especially as demand for our services grows amid the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.

Since 2018, we have provided a voluntary car service for individuals who meet our criteria, helping them access essential services related to their health and well-being. In just the first quarter of this year, we completed over one hundred journeys, covering more than five thousand miles for vital medical treatments and other important locations.

Younger individuals may struggle to find time to volunteer due to work commitments. However, unemployed individuals with a car can benefit from our nontaxable reimbursement for vehicle expenses, making volunteering more accessible.

The Communities Fund has acknowledged our commitment by offering financial support and commending our efforts to strengthen the community.
